12 Great Martial Arts Legends Arriving in Bulgaria for SENSHI 25

Get ready for the epic fight night on February 22 in Varna

Some of the biggest names in martial arts will be special guests at the international gala fight night SENSHI 25, which will take place on February 22 at the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna, Bulgaria.

Semmy Schilt, Ernesto Hoost, Akira Masuda, Nicholas Pettas, Albert Kraus, and Andy Souwer are amongst the world-famous combat sports legends who will take on referee and commentator roles during the event. At the head of the star-studded commentary team will be none other than the voice behind SENSHI – the famous commentator Grant Waterman.

The 11 thrilling bouts featured on the evening’s fight card will ensure that fans, both in the arena and those watching on screens, won’t be left indifferent. SENSHI 25 will be broadcast live on TrillerTV, SENSHI’s YouTube channel, and Boec.BG & Boec.COM.

And here are the 12 great martial arts legends you will see at SENSHI 25:

  • Shihan Akira Masuda (Japan) – “The Last Samurai,” champion of the All Japan tournament in 1990, completed the “100 fights” kumite in 1991, 2nd place at the 5th World Championship in 1991, and 3rd place at the 4th Open World Championship in 1987. He participated in 4 world championships, always finishing on the podium. He is the president of KWU SENSHI.
  • Shihan Semmy Schilt (Netherlands) – Champion of the Glory Grand Slam 16-man tournament, Glory World Champion, four-time K-1 Grand Prix Champion, K-1 World Champion, three-time King of Pancrase, and two-time World Kudo Champion. He is the president of KWU SENSHI Europe and a member of the KWU SENSHI Board of Directors.
  • Ernesto Hoost (Netherlands) – Four-time World K-1 Champion, World Champion in Savate, World ISKA Full Contact Champion, and World Muay Thai Champion. He is a member of the KWU SENSHI Board of Directors.
  • Shihan Ryu Narushima (Japan) – An extremely experienced martial arts master, 8th place at the 7th World Open Tournament in 1999, champion of the 16th All Japan tournament in the same year. He placed 3rd at the 1st World Tournament in 1997 and is a champion of the 12th and 13th All Japan tournaments. He is a member of the KWU SENSHI Board of Directors.
  • Shihan Nicolas Pettas (Japan) – European and World Karate Champion, last uchi-deshi of Masutatsu Oyama, winner of the K-1 Grand Prix in Japan, SENSHI fight night announcer, member of the KWU SENSHI Board of Directors, and head of the Public Relations and Marketing Committee of KWU SENSHI.
  • Albert Kraus (Netherlands) – The first K-1 World Champion at the MAX Tournament in 2002 and the first SUPERKOMBAT Champion in the middleweight category. Kraus holds four separate World Titles in kickboxing and Muay Thai and is a member of the KWU SENSHI Board of Directors.
  • Andy Souwer (Netherlands) – Two-time World K-1 MAX Champion, four-time World Shootboxing Champion, Showtime 70MAX World Champion, and World Muay Thai Champion. He is a member of the KWU SENSHI Board of Directors.
  • Sensei Tariel Nikoleishvili (Georgia) – Absolute World Kyokushin Champion in 2011, completed the “100 fights” kumite in 2014, Absolute Champion of Japan in 2010, and European Champion in 2010. He is a member of the KWU SENSHI Europe Board of Directors.
  • Sensei Zahari Damyanov (Bulgaria) – Absolute World Kyokushin Champion in 2015, four-time American Absolute Champion, and four-time European Kyokushin Champion. He is a member of the KWU SENSHI Europe Board of Directors.
  • Sensei Jan Sokup (Czech Republic) – Champion of the 2004 All Japan Tournament, European Champion in 2007, 2nd place at the 9th World Open Kyokushin Championship in 2007, Champion in the Heavyweight category at Yangame Fight Night in 2014, winner of SENSHI 2019, and 2nd place at the 1st European Full Contact Championship in 2020. He is a member of the KWU SENSHI Europe Board of Directors.
  • Sensei Peter Martinov (Bulgaria) – World Kyokushin Champion in 2014, European Kyokushin Champion in 2006, 3rd place at the European Open Tournament in 2008, and three-time European Tameshiwari Champion. He is a member of the KWU SENSHI Europe Board of Directors.
  • Sensei Yusuke Fuji (Japan) – 3rd place at the KWU World Karate Championship, six-time Champion of Japan, Champion of Australia and New Zealand in Full Contact Karate. He is the Chief Operating Officer of SENSHI and KWU SENSHI, chair of the Strategic Development and Education Committees, and a member of the KWU SENSHI Board of Directors.
