5 Things You Need to Know About Simeon Nakovski Ahead of His SENSHI 33 Debut

On September 5 in Varna, Simeon Nakovski will make his long-awaited debut at SENSHI 33. For the Bulgarian fighter, competing at the international fight gala is a dream come true, but simply stepping into the ring is not enough.

“I want to have several fights at SENSHI and prove that I deserve to be among so many elite fighters,” Nakovski says ahead of his first SENSHI appearance.

Who is Simeon Nakovski, and what should fans know about him before his debut? Here are five things that reveal both the fighter and the man behind the gloves.

1. Martial arts have been part of his life for 20 years

Nakovski began training in martial arts at the age of 15. Today, he has two decades of experience in combat sports behind him.

His journey into the gym, however, did not begin with dreams of becoming a professional fighter. The reason was much more personal.

“Life simply took me in the direction of combat sports. I grew up without a father, and I knew that if I didn’t learn how to defend myself, there would be no one else to do it for me. But besides learning how to protect myself, I also became a professional fighter,” he explains.

What started as a need to become stronger and learn to rely on himself gradually turned into a professional career.

2. His most meaningful victory came with a first-round knockout in Madrid

Of all the fights in his career, Nakovski places one above the rest – the bout in Madrid that earned him the European title.

And he did it in emphatic fashion, scoring a knockout in the very first round.

“It was a title I had dreamed of winning, and I’m very happy that I managed to achieve it,” the Bulgarian says.

Now another major goal lies ahead – securing his first victory in the SENSHI ring.

3. He wants to be remembered as a fighter who never gives up

Titles and victories matter, but Nakovski already knows how he wants fans to remember him when his fighting career eventually comes to an end.

“I want to be remembered as a fighter with heart, someone who always looks for the fight and never gives up, no matter how the bout develops. That is the most important thing to me.”

That same determination is also the personal quality he is most proud of.

“I’m proud that I’m a fighter who has never surrendered or given up despite all the difficulties I’ve faced. I keep going!”

His formula for success is equally clear: discipline comes before talent, while a person’s greatest strength is believing in what they want to achieve.

4. Competing at SENSHI is a dream come true – but making his debut is not enough

For Nakovski, the opportunity to step into the SENSHI ring carries special meaning.

“Competing at SENSHI is a dream come true, and I’m happy to have been given this opportunity. I want to have several fights here and prove that I deserve to be among so many elite fighters.”

There is no particular SENSHI fighter he dreams of facing in the future. As long as he stays healthy and is able to train properly, Nakovski is ready to take on anyone.

And what would earning his first SENSHI victory mean to him?

“That would truly be a dream come true. Competing here was already a dream, and now it is happening. I just want my hand to be raised after the fight.”

He also has a short warning for his first opponent:

“I just want to tell him to train hard and prepare well, because he is definitely going to have a tough opponent in me.”

5. His greatest weakness has nothing to do with fighting

Behind the professional fighter is also a father. When asked about his greatest weakness, Nakovski has an immediate answer – his two-year-old son.

And despite all the sacrifices, injuries and demanding training sessions, Nakovski does not believe fighting has taken anything away from him. Quite the opposite.

“Fighting has given me a lot. I’ve earned the respect of so many people, built valuable friendships and learned many lessons.”

Among the fighters he admires, Nakovski names one of the biggest figures in Bulgarian combat sports – Vladimir Valev “The Pitbull.”

“To me, he is a fighter and a person to look up to. It has always been a pleasure for me to watch his fights.”

And if fans need one more clue about what to expect from Nakovski at SENSHI 33, his favorite strike is the left uppercut. Whether victory comes with that punch, another knockout blow or a judges’ decision does not matter to the Bulgarian.

“Whatever comes. For me, the most important thing is the victory.”

On September 5, Simeon Nakovski will have the opportunity to turn one of his biggest dreams into reality. His SENSHI debut is now within reach – and only one goal remains: to have his hand raised at the end of the fight.
