Strikes, sparring, and a champion’s spirit: the SENSHI camp in Varna, Bulgaria pushed adrenaline to the limit with a valuable exchange of fighting experience
The fifth invitation-only camp of the international SENSHI promotion in Varna, Bulgaria, concluded successfully, bringing together 26 professional fighters from different countries for several days of intensive preparation, professional exchange, and development of key skills. From April 23 to 26, participants went through a series of high-intensity training sessions at SENSHI Gym, which significantly elevated their technical and tactical level.
Under the guidance of leading figures in global kickboxing legends Albert Kraus and Andy Souwer the fighters worked on refining combinations, powerful striking, speed, and adaptability in various fight scenarios. Special emphasis was placed on sparring with a wide range of opponents, allowing younger fighters to step out of their comfort zone and apply what they had learned in real-time dynamics with experienced partners.
The camp also established itself as a platform for international exchange of experience, where athletes from different schools and styles shared knowledge, approaches, and fighting culture. This environment fosters the development of more well-rounded and competitive fighters, ready for the big stage.
A special highlight of the camp program was the Beyond the Bell initiative, hosted by Grant Waterman, which gave younger fighters the opportunity to take part in a mentorship session with the sport’s greats outside the training process. During the open discussion, they asked questions and sought guidance directly from Kraus and Souwer - from tactical details and fight preparation to personal motivation and building a champion mindset. This intergenerational dialogue proved to be a valuable element of the camp, complementing the physical training with inspiration and perspective.
With the experience gained and the elevated level achieved during the camp, some of the participants are already shifting their focus to the upcoming challenge in May - SENSHI 31 Gladiators. Albert Kraus and Andy Souwer will also be there as part of the promotion’s star-studded refereeing and judging panel.
The fight night will take place on May 30 at the stage of the Ancient Theatre of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and promises spectacular clashes featuring some of the best fighters, as well as the next epic Grand Prix tournament in the lightweight division (up to 70 kg). Don’t miss the chance to experience the action live, tickets for SENSHI 31 Gladiators are available through the Eventim.bg network.
