Atanas Bozhilov: SENSHI Is My Life, I Still Have More to Show

One of the three blockbuster fights on the card of SENSHI 31 Gladiators will see Atanas Bozhilov take on England’s Aaron Slemanе on May 30 from 7:30 PM EET /12:30 PM EST/ at the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The bout will be contested in the 75 kg division and promises a high-paced, technical clash and an uncompromising battle inside the ring. Tickets are available at Eventim.bg.

Preparation and Opponent Change

“I’m preparing according to plan. Everything is going normally. There was some concern because 20 days before the fight, my opponent got injured and they had to replace him. I quickly adjusted to the new opponent. I saw what he is capable of and prepared for both his strengths and weaknesses. I hope to neutralize them and win the fight,” Bozhilov told the team of the morning television show Bulgaria Morning.

He explained that he is currently focusing on short and intensive training sessions lasting between 40 and 50 minutes and revealed that he still has 3–4 kilograms left to cut in order to make weight.

Experience and Motivation

Speaking to Bulgaria ON AIR televizion, Bozhilov shared that his success at SENSHI over the years has given him both confidence and a greater sense of responsibility.

“I have to stay fully focused. During the last week before the fight, I think only about the match. I concentrate and study my opponent. I hope everything works out and goes smoothly,” the fighter commented.

Bozhilov stressed that one of his biggest motivations is to prove that age does not matter and that he still has plenty left to demonstrate inside the ring.

Advice for Young Fighters

Asked what advice Bulgarian fighters seek from him before making their SENSHI debut, Bozhilov replied that they mainly ask about his training routine. He added that younger competitors are often nervous because they have less experience, but he sees that nervousness as a positive sign.

“SENSHI shaped me as a competitor. SENSHI is my life,” Atanas Bozhilov stated during the morning show, expressing his respect and appreciation for the promotion.
