Diyan Dimitrov on SENSHI 30: “I Promise a Victory and an Amazing Show”

On February 28 at 7:00 PM, the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna will once again become the epicenter of combat sports with the anniversary edition SENSHI 30. The international fighting organization will mark the occasion with a historic milestone — the first-ever Grand Prix tournament in the -75 kg division, which will crown the first SENSHI champion in this weight class.

The race for the Grand Prix title will feature 12 elite fighters from 13 countries — Japan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Portugal, Spain, Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia, Albania, Greece, Romania, and Bulgaria. The format is uncompromising: KWU Full Contact rules, direct eliminations, and three consecutive fights in one night, with only one fighter able to endure the entire path to the top.

Alongside the high-adrenaline tournament, SENSHI 30 also delivers three spectacular super fights that complete the fight card. In one of them, in the -70 kg category, Bulgaria’s rising star Diyan Dimitrov will face Charalampos Digkas of Greece. Despite being just 19 years old, Diyan already boasts an impressive résumé: World WAKO Champion (2022, 2025)European WAKO Champion (2023)five-time WAKO World Cup winner, and two-time WAKO European Cup champion.

In an interview for Boec.bgDiyan shared that his preparation for the fight is going exactly according to plan and is fully tailored to his opponent. He trains twice a day — the early phase focused on strength, while the current stage emphasizes technique and endurance. His opponent is not unfamiliar; the two have trained together at SENSHI camps“He has an aggressive style and likes to press hard, but my coach and I have studied him carefully and we have a clear game plan,” Diyan says, deliberately keeping the details to himself.

His first appearance in the organization came at SENSHI 26, when he stepped in at the last moment — just 10 days before the gala, replacing an injured fighter. At the time, he had been preparing for an amateur bout with two-minute rounds, while SENSHI’s professional format uses three-minute rounds — a difference that proved crucial. The loss came after a missed backfist in the second round that led to a knockdown, but despite the defeat, Diyan earned the “Fighting Spirit” award for his heart and determination. “It was an important lesson. I learned from it, and now I’m coming for a win,” he says with conviction.

SENSHI 26: -70 kg Giannis Eminov (Greece) vs Diyan Dimitrov (Bulgaria) | KWU FULL CONTACT Rules

For the upcoming clash with Digkas, the plan is straightforward — to fight his own fight“The game plan is simple — to beat my opponent,” Diyan says with a smile. His favorite strike is the flying knee, and his confidence comes not only from titles, but from experience gained in tough international battles.

Diyan also commented on the historic -75 kg Grand Prix, calling it something unprecedented for Bulgaria — a format featuring elite fighters, world champions, and immense physical and mental demands. He is rooting for his teammate Julien Rikov and believes such tournaments elevate the entire combat sports scene.

SENSHI is an incredible springboard for Bulgarian fighters. It’s amazing that we have an organization like this in Bulgaria,” Diyan adds, before sending a clear message to the fans: on February 28 at 7:00 PM, come to the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna and support the fighters. His promise is clear and confident — maximum action, maximum fights, and maximum spectacle.
