Two-time SENSHI European Champion Eduard Aleksanyan is ready for a new challenge. Moving up to the 95 kg division for SENSHI 33 Grand Prix, “Mr. Show” has made his ambition clear – he is coming for the title
One of SENSHI’s most explosive and recognizable fighters, Eduard Aleksanyan, will enter the eight-man Grand Prix tournament on September 5 in Varna, facing elite international competition and the demanding prospect of up to three fights in a single night.
Ahead of SENSHI 33, Aleksanyan spoke exclusively on “Bulgaria Morning”, the morning show of Bulgaria ON AIR, about his preparation, strategy and mindset before one of the biggest challenges of his SENSHI career.
His road to the Grand Prix title begins against Romania’s Yuri Farcas in the quarterfinals.
“My preparation is going well and I feel good. Until recently, we were training twice a day, and as the fight gets closer, we have reduced it to one session per day. I am fully focused on my strengths and I am studying my opponents” Aleksanyan said.

But SENSHI 33 presents a very different challenge from a single professional fight.
Eight fighters will enter the 95 kg Grand Prix, with the eventual champion having to survive the quarterfinals, semifinals and final on the same night. For Aleksanyan, managing his energy could be just as important as imposing his trademark aggressive style.
“I have to be calmer. If I go 100% in the first fight, you never know how my body will respond in the second one. This is a tournament. The knockout comes naturally, although every time I step into the ring, I am looking for the knockout. If it goes to the judges – then it goes to the judges,” he told Bulgaria ON AIR.
Aleksanyan enters SENSHI 33 with considerable confidence and experience behind him.
A two-time SENSHI European Champion, he now steps up to the 95 kg division with the opportunity to add another major achievement to his record.
To prepare for the challenge, Aleksanyan completed a 20-day training camp in Spain, where he tested himself against high-level fighters and gained valuable rounds of sparring ahead of the tournament.
“I am happy with the camp and the sparring. I am ready to take the title from this Grand Prix,” Aleksanyan declared.
With a strong international field standing between him and the trophy, however, physical preparation will be only one part of the challenge. Aleksanyan believes mental strength will play a crucial role as the tournament progresses.
“It is very important for a fighter to be mentally prepared. You have to stay very calm and pursue what you stepped into the ring to achieve,” he said.
And when he walks into the SENSHI arena on September 5, he expects the crowd to provide another boost.
“The audience lifts you up and gives you incredible energy. My family supports me as well. They know I am stubborn – kickboxing is simply part of who I am.”
SENSHI 33 Grand Prix takes place on September 5 in Varna, Bulgaria, bringing together eight elite fighters in an international tournament in the 95 kg division.
The event will feature the Grand Prix quarterfinals, semifinals and final, along with reserve bouts, a third-place fight and three Super Fights.
For Aleksanyan, however, there is only one destination.
After establishing himself as a two-time SENSHI European Champion, he now has the opportunity to conquer a new weight division and add the SENSHI 33 Grand Prix title to his achievements.
