Ognyan Mirchev is one of Bulgaria’s leading kickboxers in the lightweight division up to 70 kg. So far, he has recorded three victories in the SENSHI ring, one of them by knockout, without a single loss, and is now focused on securing his fourth win. On September 5, in a super fight at SENSHI 33 in St. St. Constantine and Elena resort, Varna, Bulgaria, Ognyan Mirchev will face Greek fighter Giannis Eminov, who already has one victory in the organization.
“I train twice a day, but everything is planned by my coach. The fight was supposed to take place last year, but I suffered an injury, and finally, the fight is going to happen,” the fighter said in an interview with the Bulgaria Sutrin TV show.
The kickboxer steps into the ring with growing confidence. As he gains more experience and victories in the SENSHI ring, Mirchev is also becoming increasingly confident in his abilities. Among his strongest weapons, he highlights his speed and his ability to control the distance.
“I’m fast and have a good sense of distance, which helps me a lot. For me, it is important to perform as well as possible and win – a knockout is not the ultimate goal,” Mirchev told the television audience.
The Bulgarian is also aware that with every step forward and every new opponent, the level of the challenges increases. “Every time, the preparation is harder, and every fight is a bigger challenge,” he added in an interview with Bulgaria ON AIR.
Mirchev’s coach, Nikola Nikolov, plays an important role in his development. After every fight, the two analyze his performance and start working on the mistakes he made. The kickboxer also places great importance on recovery between demanding training sessions.
“For me, it is important to perform as well as possible in the SENSHI ring and win,” the fighter added.
