Fans of combat sports can expect a night full of action and dramatic battles on May 30 at 19:30, when SENSHI 31 Gladiators transforms the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv into a stage for elite kickboxing and warrior spirit. The main attraction of the evening is the 70 kg Grand Prix tournament — eight fighters, three fights in one night, and only one champion. It is a true test of endurance, strategy, and mentality, where only the toughest survive.
One of the reserve bouts on the card will feature Maxence Vignais of France against Viktor Kolaja of Poland. During the fifth SENSHI specialized training camp in Varna, the team of Boec.bg spoke with Kolaja about his preparation and expectations ahead of the event in Plovdiv.
Kolaja described the SENSHI camp as an incredible opportunity to work alongside world-class fighters and gain valuable experience through high-level sparring sessions. He admitted that training under legendary instructors Albert Kraus and Andy Souwer has been a dream come true.
“I used to watch Albert Kraus and Andy Souwer and wanted to become a fighter like them,” Kolaja shared. “Now I’m learning directly from them, which is something truly special.”
The Polish fighter is highly motivated for the Grand Prix challenge. Last year, he captured the KWU SENSHI Amateur World Cup title at 70 kg, and now he is ready to test himself at the professional level.
Kolaja also revealed that he already knows his opponent well, as the two have trained together during previous SENSHI camps. “I know him, I’ve trained with him before, and I believe I can beat him,” he said confidently.
Although he is scheduled for a reserve bout, Kolaja remains fully focused and prepared for the possibility of entering the main tournament bracket. “If somebody gets injured or cannot continue, I may have to fight two or even three times in one night. I come from karate, where tournament formats are normal, so I’m used to multiple fights in the same evening.”
He ended with a promise to the fans in Plovdiv: “I’ll give my absolute best and do everything I can to entertain the crowd.”
SENSHI 31 Gladiators is organized in cooperation with the KWU International Professional League, as well as with the special support of Armeec Insurance Company, MAX Sport, Bulgaria Air, M Car Group – BMW dealer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Service, and St. St. Constantine and Helena Holding.
