On the tatami came 326 Kyokushin competitors from 29 countries. Bulgaria won 14 medals in the tournament.
The World Cup Varna for juniors, girls, and cadets was a grand event that brought together over 300 Kyokushin athletes, all between the ages of 14 and 21. It showcased high spirits and emotions and challenging, engaging, and spectacular matches. Held on July 2 in Kamchia, Bulgaria, the tournament was a race for the prestigious medals. Kazakhstan participated in the tournament with 59 Kyokushin athletes, and the positive balance for their country is 34 champions with 12 gold, 10 silver, and 12 bronze medals.
Among the medal contenders were representatives from a total of 29 countries, a testament to the global appeal of Kyokushin martial arts. The diversity of the participants, including those from Brazil, Bolivia, Japan, and Chile, as well as Kyokushin competitors who came all the way from the USA and Norway, added a unique flavor to the prestigious tournament. The representatives of Kazakhstan stood out with the best performance at the World Cup Varna 2024 and the most medals – 34 in total. Second, in the number of awards in the team ranking with 14 medals were the athletes from Bulgaria, and in third place in the competition with 3 medals stood the representatives of Hungary.
World Cup Varna 2024 for juniors, girls, and cadets between 14 and 21 years is organized as part of the diverse program of the 18th International Martial Arts Camp in Kamchia, which starts on July 1 and will continue until July 7 inclusive. It is the only one of its kind in world martial sports and is organized by the KWU International Professional League and the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Organization. This year it will involve nearly 2000 participants from all over the world who will have the opportunity to train in kickboxing, kyokushin, Kudo, iaido with some of the biggest names in martial arts such as Shihan Akira Masuda, Shihan Semi Schilt and Ernesto Hoost, Albert Kraus, world famous martial artists Shihan Francisco Filho, Shihan Glaube Feitosa, Sensei Ewerton Teixeira, Sensei Tariel Nikoleishvili and Sensei Zahari Damyanov.
The excitement doesn’t end with the World Cup, Varna. The camp will continue with more thrilling training and events. On July 4, the highly anticipated KWU SENSHI World Cup for amateurs tournament will kick off, featuring 40 competitors from 18 countries. The tournament will unfold over three days and across five categories, with the finals available for live viewing at the International Gala Night SENSHI 22 on July 6 at 6:30 pm on the beach in front of the Restaurant “MORE” in St. St. Constantine and Helena resort.
