The latest edition of the SENSHI 22 International Combat Gala Night was a true spectacle filled with surprises. From intense battles to electrifying emotions, the event provided diverse fights for the audience and those watching from home. The night featured five significant finals of the KWU SENSHI World Cup for Amateurs, two defenses of European SENSHI titles, a marriage proposal, and a resounding “Yes” – making it a truly unforgettable gala evening. The event took place on July 6th on the beach in St. St. Constantine and Helena, Varna, Bulgaria.
Here are the full recaps of the Amateurs’ finals:
Fight 1
Victor Xavier is officially the new winner of the KWU SENSHI World Amateur Cup in the 70 kg category after a successful bout against Alisher Karmenov. The two put up a severe fight in the opening battle of SENSHI 22 and even needed an extra round to determine the victor. The Kazakh fighter fell to a knockdown towards the end of the bout, which sealed the outcome in the final seconds, allowing Xavier to lift the trophy above his head.
Fight 2
Angel Bauza triumphed with the 75 kg title from the KWU SENSHI World Amateur Cup after opening a big cut on Aibek Amanov’s head in the very first round of their bout. In the corner, Amanov’s team tried to close the wound, but the doctors intervened and justly stopped the match. The Argentine will go home with the world title after three great victories in three consecutive days by the sea.
Fight 3
Mitko Iliev and Atanas Lichev were supposed to broadcast the new KWU SENSHI, the world amateur champion in the category of up to 80 kg. Iliev started the match more confidently, achieved a knockdown early in the fight, and then finished what he started with a good combination. Sensei Tariel Nikoleishvili gave Lichev a chance to recover during the count but then determined that he could not continue and announced the end of the match. Mitko Iliev will certainly have reasons to be proud of this triumph, mainly because he traditionally competes in mixed martial arts.
Fight 4
Ricardo Luckei is the new World Amateur Champion of the KWU SENSHI World Cup after winning a hard-fought decision over Nikita Garas in the 85 kg category. Their fight was back and forth initially, but in the third round, the scales tilted in the Brazilian’s direction. Although one of the referees awarded a draw, the other two gave it 29:28 in favor of Luckei. Luckei certainly has reasons to be proud because, within three days, he proved that he is the best and deservedly will take his new championship belt to Brazil.
Fight 5
Pablo Molina is the new champion in the category, with up to 90 kg, in the KWU SENSHI World Amateur Cup after a unanimous decision against Vukan Roganovic. The Argentine was the better fighter in the ring near Varna, although one of the judges awarded a draw on his card. However, the other two gave scores of 30:28 and 30:27 in favor of the new champion. Molina followed Luckei’s example, once again proving that the green belt does not properly appreciate his great qualities in the ring.
