On May 30 at 19:30, SENSHI 31 Gladiators will turn the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv into a stage of spectacular fights and strong emotions. Fans of combat sports will witness epic clashes, while the Grand Prix tournament in the 70 kg category will take center stage during the fight night.
Eight fighters will enter the competition for the title, with the path to the trophy requiring three bouts in a single evening. The tournament will test not only the athletes’ physical preparation but also their endurance and mental resilience.
One of the intriguing reserve bouts will pit Bulgarian Mihail Velchovski against Spain’s Andres Casado, known as “The Punisher,” in a clash where only the best will stand out.
In a special interview for the combat sports media Boec.bg, Casado revealed that he trains twice a day, combining physical preparation with strategic and technical work. He stated that he is ready for any challenge and promised “a tough fight and a spectacle.”
According to him, mental resilience is one of the most important qualities for success in the ring, and there is no place for fear in the sport. The Spanish fighter believes that a true champion must possess discipline, character, and a strong fighting spirit.
Casado also shared that he has been practicing combat sports for 11 years, with his father and coach having the greatest influence on his development. Among the biggest challenges in his career, he highlights his fight against Luke Wellham, while his greatest achievement so far is winning a world title.
Outside of combat sports, the athlete is interested in construction and enjoys finding a balance between his professional career and personal interests. He finds motivation in difficult moments, setting clear goals and accepting tough periods as part of the journey. The Spaniard also revealed that he has a game plan for his bout against Mihail Velchovski and promises an exciting performance for the fans.
Casado is determined to establish himself among the elite of world kickboxing and considers SENSHI 31 Gladiators one of the organizations that provides fighters with a real opportunity to prove themselves at a high international level. He is determined to leave his mark in the bout, and if the opportunity arises after the reserve fight, he would gladly take part in the main bracket of the Grand Prix tournament.
