Asdren Gashi is one of the fighters set to participate in the highly anticipated battle gala SENSHI 31 Gladiators. The event will take place on May 30 at 7:30 PM at the Ancient Theatre of Plovdiv. The highlight of the evening will be the lightweight Grand Prix tournament (up to 70 kg) – eight fighters, three fights in one night, and only one champion. In addition to the Grand Prix tournament, the gala will also feature three super fights, including one of the most interesting heavyweight matches between Belgium’s Asdren Gashi and the Netherlands’ Thomas Bridgewater under KWU FULL CONTACT rules in the +95 kg division.
Throughout his 12 years of experience, Asdren Gashi has learned a lot and reveals in a special interview for the combat sports media outlet Boec.bg some details about his preparation and strategy for the match.
Asdren Gashi’s Preparation
The Belgian fighter shares that his preparation for SENSHI 31 Gladiators has been extremely demanding and intense with training sessions designed to constantly push him to the limit of his strength. Gashi believes that physical and mental preparation are equally important and must be in complete balance. His favorite part of the training remains sparring — according to him, that is how real fighters are built.

The heavyweight fighter is certain that humility is the most important quality for a champion. He believes that the ability to stay grounded regardless of success is what separates a born winner from everyone else.

Among the most memorable moments in his career, Gashi mentions his fight against Colin George. He considers the opportunity to compete in major international organisations such as SENSHI 31 Gladiators to be his greatest achievement. He admits that he is impressed by the level of combat sports in Bulgaria and by the atmosphere created around the events.

In his free time, Asdren enjoys spending peaceful moments with his family and friends. He says that if he had not become a professional fighter, he would probably have worked in the police force or in the security sector.

According to him, it is the audience that makes kickboxing such a great sport, and fighters are obliged to repay them with high-level performances.
