Surinamese fighter Miles Simson is confident he is in outstanding shape ahead of his appearance at SENSHI 32, where he will compete in the SENSHI Grand Prix middleweight tournament. In an interview with ChampsTalk, he said he feels great, his preparation has gone exactly as planned, and he is ready to deliver his best performance.
Simson, who has extensive experience in both kickboxing and MMA, admitted that returning to kickboxing is especially exciting for him. “Kickboxing is my first love. It feels great to compete under these rules again, and I can't wait for next week,” he said.
The fighter revealed that his entire training camp was focused exclusively on kickboxing, without having to balance different combat disciplines. “I've done a lot of sparring, I feel great, and my weight is already almost on target. I'm convinced I can make a real impact at the SENSHI 32 Grand Prix,” Simson stated.
In the opening round of the tournament, he will face Canadian opponent Olivier Langlois-Ross. Simson said he has watched his opponent's previous fights and is familiar with his style. “He's a southpaw and comes from a Muay Thai background. That's a good matchup for me because I also have experience in Muay Thai. I believe the game plan we developed during training is very solid,” the fighter commented.
Simson has considerable experience competing in tournament formats and believes that is one of his greatest strengths. “I've won tournaments before, and I know what it takes to go all the way. It doesn't matter whether it's a single fight or a tournament—the mindset is always the same. I step into the ring to win.”
According to Simson, one of the most common mistakes in Grand Prix competitions is that some fighters start thinking about the next rounds before winning their opening bout. “I focus only on the first fight. Once I win that one, then I'll think about the next.”
Toward the end of the interview, Simson declined to reveal details of his strategy but promised fans an exciting performance. “I'm not going to reveal my game plan. I'll just say one thing—I'm bringing real fireworks.”
SENSHI 32 will take place on July 11 at the beach arena next to Restaurant More in St. St. Constantine and Helena Resort, Varna, Bulgaria, where the SENSHI Grand Prix Middleweight tournament will feature some of the world's top fighters in the -85 kg division.
