Fight fans are in for a thrilling night on May 30 at 19:30, when SENSHI 31 Gladiators turns the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv into a battleground of power, technique, and relentless spirit. The centerpiece of the event is the 70 kg Grand Prix — eight fighters, three bouts in one night, and only one champion. It’s a true test of endurance, strategy, and character, where only the strongest survive.
Among the contenders is Samo Petje, the SENSHI European champion at 75 kg, who now steps into a new challenge, aiming to prove himself once again on the organization’s stage. The Boec.bg team caught up with him during the fifth SENSHI training camp in Varna to talk about his preparation ahead of one of the toughest tests of his career.
Petje emphasized that preparing for a Grand Prix is fundamentally different from a single fight: “You train for three fights, but everything starts step by step. If you don’t win the first one, there is no second.” That’s why his focus is entirely on his opening bout, where he is set to face an Italian opponent. “We’ll study him carefully and prepare the right strategy,” he added.
The Slovenian fighter also highlighted the overall level of the competition: “Every fighter in this Grand Prix is high class. I don’t have preferences — you have to be ready for anyone.”
Petje closed with a message to the fans, inviting them to experience the event live: “Come to the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv on May 30 — it’s going to be a real spectacle!”
