Thomas Bridgewater Returns to the Ring: I Always Keep My Hands Sharp and Play My Own Game

Thomas Bridgewater is ready for his next fight at SENSHI 31 Gladiators, where he will face Asdren Gashi. This year’s international fight gala will take place on May 30 at 7:30 PM at the Ancient Theatre of Plovdiv, promising fans an unforgettable night of high-level combat and spectacular matchups. The event will also feature the first-ever SENSHI Grand Prix tournament in the 70 kg division with direct eliminations.

In an interview with ChampsTalkTV, Thomas shares that he is excited to return to SENSHI, describing the atmosphere of the arena as something that truly feels like a gladiator battle. According to him, the organization always put on first place the respect for the fighters, which makes the experience even more special.

Thomas trains at ARJ Gym alongside his brother, Levi Rigters, and the two have built a strong bond through years of supporting each other. The preparation for every fight is intense and highly demanding. The gym is filled with high-level fighters, which constantly pushes everyone to improve and stay in peak condition. For Thomas, that strong sense of brotherhood and the high level of competition are exactly what make the team so powerful.

Training sessions are built around both technical precision and physical conditioning. Whenever the coach brings the fighters in for sparring, everyone is expected to give their maximum and perform as if they are already in a real fight. In the final week before the match, the focus shifts to fine-tuning the game plan, improving movements, recovery, and mental preparation. Thomas believes that when you train hard enough, the hunger to compete comes naturally.

He also remembers one of the toughest moments of his career during a fight in Curaçao against a highly experienced opponent. Thomas knocks him out within seconds, but when he returns to his corner, his opponent is already back on his feet waiting for him. The experience teaches him an important lesson – never celebrate before the fight is officially over.

Known for his technical skills and spectacular kicking techniques, Thomas has built a reputation for delivering highlight-reel performances. His trademark tornado kicks have become one of the most recognizable weapons in his arsenal, often leaving fans stunned. Ahead of the upcoming fight, the Dutch fighter hinted that the audience can once again expect explosive action and spectacular techniques inside the ring.

Outside the ring, Thomas describes himself as calm and balanced. He enjoys taking time to relax and clear his mind from pressure and stress. Inside the ring, however, he enters with full confidence in his qualities and admits that he is not particularly impressed by his upcoming opponent.

Thomas has visited Bulgaria several times before and once even came for a snowboarding vacation. For the upcoming SENSHI 31 Gladiators event, he will be joined by his coach, his brother, and one of his closest friends.
