The talented kickboxer Zhulien Rikov will take part in the upcoming SENSHI 30 Grand Prix. The international fight gala will take place on February 28 at 7:00 PM at the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna, Bulgaria. Tickets for the spectacular event are available through the Eventim.bg network.
“I’m ready, the training sessions are very tough. There are about two weeks left. Every day I train twice for two hours, with only one rest day per week. It won’t be easy, but I’ll manage. All my energy is focused on SENSHI 30 Grand Prix,” Rikov said on the air of Bulgaria Morning.
He describes the style of his first opponent as more amateurish and is not worried about the bout. For the following matches, he and his team have planned more special tactics.
“During the fight, it’s decided what the intensity will be and how much I’ll give in the first match — to win convincingly, but also not to get injured and to preserve myself for the next fights. I’ll rest and then step back in for the next victory,” Rikov added in an interview for Bulgaria ON AIR.
According to him, one must think fight by fight and not focus on the next match before the first one is over.
The fighter noted that it is difficult to find sparring partners in Bulgaria, so he finds them during fight camps. He also openly admitted that he has a fear of losing. “Losing is the worst thing for an athlete — it breaks you the most. Victories are experience; they help you in the next battles,” Rikov emphasized, adding that the audience plays an important role by providing motivation and new strength.
“I wanted to compete, but I never knew I would come this far. I’m grateful for this to my coach, my family, and to myself for not giving up. I don’t have a ritual before a fight — I concentrate as much as possible on executing my plan,” the fighter concluded.
