The sea capital of Varna will once again host meetings between elite fighting stars, and Bulgarian and foreign combat sports competitors in December when the last training camp of the year will be held by the Professional League of the Kyokushin World Union (KWU). Accommodation and training costs of the participants are covered by the organizer. The master classes will take place in one of the best sports complexes in Varna – the prestigious sports center “SENSHI Gym” in the period between December 1st and 4th.
The participants will once again have the opportunity to train side by side with some of the biggest luminaries in professional kickboxing and combat sports, who will join as instructors, teaching exquisite fighting techniques, and skills to train the mind and body. Among them will be the legendary names in combat sports Sam Greco and Nicholas Pettas. Greco is an Australian fighter who won the national heavyweight title five years in a row. The full-contact karateka was a regular participant in the K-1 Grand Prix competitions. He defeated names like Branko Cikatić, Ernesto Hoost, Mike Bernardo, Stefan Leko, and Ray Sefo.
Nicholas Pettas is a Danish heavyweight kickboxer. He mainly competes in K-1, winning the Japan Grand Prix in 2001. His impressive style and spectacular low kicks make the Kyokushin karateka one of the most legendary fighters. Among his defeated opponents are names like Musashi, Gökhan Saki, Nobu Hayashi and Petar Varga.
This time, the training camp participants again will receive valuable advice and knowledge to improve their fighting techniques first-hand from the three-time and four-time K1 World Heavyweight Champions Peter Aerts, Semmy Schilt and Ernesto Hoost, as well as the Dutch great and “K-1 Max” champion Albert Kraus.
During the upcoming camp in Varna, the participants will have the opportunity to train together and learn the universal fighting style of the General Secretary of the Kyokushin World Union (KWU) Shihan Aleksandr Pitchkounov, a medalist of K-1 Grand Prix tournaments. Also, Yusuke Fujii Sensei will join the team of instructors. He’s a Winner of the 4th, 6th, and 7th All-Japan Kyokushin-kan Karate Championships. Including All-Japan weight classes, he has won a total of six All-Japan championships.
Sensei Jan Soukup will also take part in the training camp. The“Czech Samurai” won 2nd place 9th Kyokushin World Open 2007, he is European Champion, All Japan Tournament winner and Yangame’s Fight Night Heavyweight champion.
Instructors within the training camp will also be Sensei Zahari Damyanov – absolute world champion in Kyokushin karate, as well as Sensei Petar Martinov – world and European champion in Kyokushin karate. Both are also coaches of the national Kyokushin karate team.
Sensei Andrews Nakahara will join the team. He was the World Kyokushin champion in 2005, the All-American Absolute champion in 2006, and 2-times South American champion. He won 4 of his 11 Professional matches with Knockouts.
For the first time, within the training camp of the Professional League of the Kyokushin World Union (KWU), No-Gi BJJ – Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training with Alex Alves, 5 dan, from Brazil will be held. Sensei Nakahara and Sensei Alves will be teaching by the rules of KWU OPEN with grabbing, throwing, and groundwork. Part of the program will also be a special lecture on “Optimal nutrition and supplementation for fighters” with Belcho Hristov.
The training camps, which are held under the auspices of the Professional League of the Kyokushin World Union (KWU), contribute significantly to improving the level and perfecting the execution of the techniques of the fighters in Bulgaria. The event will be accompanied by the last 2022 edition of the spectacular SENSHI international gala fight night, in which elite fighting stars from 18 countries will compete in titanic clashes.
