Martial Arts Legends Arrive in Bulgaria for SENSHI

World-renowned martial arts masters and legends of the fighting world will be special guests at the International Professional Fight Night SENSHI 27, which will take place on July 12 at the impressive beach arena in the resort “St. St. Constantine and Helena” in Varna, Bulgaria. The fight night is the highlight of a week (July 6–13) filled with major sports events that excite the martial arts community both in Bulgaria and around the world — including the traditional large-scale International Martial Arts Summer Camp 2025, the established platform for young talent – the World Cup Varna 2025 in Kyokushin Karate, and the second edition of the KWU SENSHI World Cup for Amateurs 2025.

The fight card for SENSHI 27 will feature 8 professional bouts, with 16 fighters from 12 countries. On this hot summer night in Varna, three of Bulgaria’s most talented fighters will also enter the ring to the cheers of the home crowd. Spectators will also witness the thrilling finals of the KWU SENSHI World Cup for Amateurs 2025, which will take place in the beach arena. Among the martial arts stars arriving in Bulgaria as part of the esteemed referee team, and acting as head referees and commentators for SENSHI 27, are Shihan Akira Masuda, Shihan Semmy Schilt, Shihan Francisco Filho, Ernesto Hoost, Shihan Nicholas Pettas, Albert Kraus, Andy Souwer, and many other internationally recognized names. The voice behind SENSHI – renowned British commentator Grant Waterman – will once again lead the commentary sessions during the fights for the international audience.

These martial arts greats are also leading instructors at the training sessions during the large XIX edition International Martial Arts Summer Camp in Kamchia, Bulgaria. Shihan Akira Masuda (Japan) – also known as The Last Samurai is the All Japan Champion 1990, completed the 100-man kumite in 1991, placed 2nd at the 5th World Open Championship in 1991, and 3rd at the 4th World Open Championship in 1987. His All Japan record also includes 5th place in 1983, 3rd place in 1985, 2nd place in 1986, and 4th place in 1989. He competed in 4 World Open weight tournaments during his fighting career. He is the President of KWU SENSHI.

Shihan Semmy Schilt (Netherlands) – a Glory Grand Slam 16-man tournament Champion, Glory World Champion, 4 x K-1 Grand Prix Champion, K-1 World Champion, 3x King of Pancrase, 2 times World Kudo Champion, President of the KWU SENSHI Europe, and a Member of the Board of the KWU SENSHI.

Shihan Francisco Filho (Brazil) – 2 times K-1 Grand Prix champion, Absolute Kyokushin World Champion in 1999, completed 2 times the 100-man kumite in 1999, World Champion in 1997, 4-time Brazilian champion, 3 times South American champion, President of the KWU SENSHI South America, and a Member of the board of the KWU SENSHI.

Ernesto Hoost (Netherlands) – also known as Mr. Perfect is a 4-time K-1 World Champion, Savate World Champion, ISKA full contact World Champion, Muay Thai World Champion, and a Member of the Board of the KWU SENSHI.

Shihan Ryu Narushima (Japan) –ahighly accomplished martial artist who achieved 8th place in the 7th World Open Tournament of 1999 and was named Champion of the 16th All Japan Weight Tournament that same year. He placed third in the 1st World Weight Tournament of 1997 and was crowned champion at the 12th and 13th All Japan Weight Tournaments, and a Member of the Board of KWU SENSHI.

Shihan  Sam Greco (Australia) – a K-1 Fighter, World Champion, motivational speaker, actor, 3x WAKO World Kickboxing Champion, World Full Contact Karate Champion, 6x Australian Full Contact Champion, and a Member of the Board of KWU SENSHI.

Shihan Nicholas Pettas (Japan) – is the European and World Karate Champion, the last Uchi-deshi of Masutatsu Oyama, K-1 Japan Grand Prix winner, SENSHI ring announcer, Chairman of the PR and Marketing Committee of the KWU SENSHI, and a Member of the Board of the KWU SENSHI.

Shihan Glaube Feitosa (Brazil) – K-1 World Grand Prix Las Vegas Champion 2005, 2nd place K1 World GP 2005, 2-time Brazil Champion, South American Champion, 2nd place on the 1st World weight Championship, MVP World Team Cup 1998, and World Champion at the World Team Cup 2002, Vice President of the KWU SENSHI South America, and a Member of the Board of the KWU SENSHI.

Albert Kraus (Netherlands) – the first K-1 World MAX Champion in 2002 and also the first SUPERKOMBAT Middleweight Champion, World Champion in Kickboxing and Muay Thai, and a Member of the Board of the KWU SENSHI.

Andy Souwer (Netherlands) two-time K-1 World MAX champion, four-time Shootboxing World champion, Showtime 70MAX World champion, World Muay Thai Champion, and a Member of the Board of the KWU SENSHI.

Sensei Ewerton Teixeira (Brazil) – is the 2008 K-1 World GP Fukuoka Champion, the 2007 Absolute Kyokushin World Champion, the 2005 Kyokushin World weight Champion, and the 5-time All-American Champion in open weight, a Мember of the Board of the KWU SENSHI, and a Member of the PR and Marketing Committee of the KWU SENSHI.

Sensei Tariel Nikoleishvili (Georgia) – Absolute Kyokushin World Champion 2011, completed 100-man kumite in 2014, Absolute Champion of Japan 2010, Champion of Japan in weight category 2010, Champion of Europe 2010, and a Member of the Board of the KWU SENSHI Europe.      

Sensei Zahari Damyanov (Bulgaria) – Absolute Kyokushin World Champion 2015, 4-times American Absolute Champion, 4-times European Champion, and a Member of the Board of the KWU SENSHI.

Sensei Jan Soukup (Czech Republic) – 2nd place at the 9th Kyokushin World Open 2007, European Champion, All Japan Tournament winner, Yangame’s Fight Night Heavyweight Champion 2014, and a Member of the Board of the KWU SENSHI.

Sensei Andrews Nakahara (Brazil) – the World Kyokushin champion 2005, All-American Absolute champion, 2 times South American champion. He won 4 of his 11 Professional matches with Knockouts. He is a Member of the Board of the KWU SENSHI.

Sensei Petar Martinov (Bulgaria) – Kyokushin World Champion 2014, Kyokushin European Champion 2006, 3rd place European Open 2008, 3-times European Tameshiwari champion, and a Member of the Board of the KWU SENSHI.

Sensei Yusuke Fujii (Japan) – KWU World Championships 3rd place, six times All-Japan champion in absolute and weight divisions, Australian and New Zealand full contact champion, SENSHI and KWU SENSHI Chief Operation Officer (COO), Chairman of the Strategic Committee, Chairman of the Educational Committee, and a Member of the Board of the KWU SENSHI.
