Plovdiv kickboxer Ivaylo Panev, with debut at SENSHI 26, seeks redemption

Promising kickboxer Ivaylo Panev is set to make his debut at SENSHI 26: Gladiators, taking place on May 17 in his hometown of Plovdiv, Bulgaria at the iconic Ancient Theatre—hosting the prestigious event for the very first time. At just 26 years old, Panev is already a six-time Bulgarian national kickboxing champion and a two-time national Muay Thai champion. He also holds a WAKO World Cup title.

Panev will step in the 26th gladiatorial edition of the fighting gala instead of Ognyan Mirchev. He will face Greek fighter Giannis Eminov in a highly anticipated rematch. Reflecting on their previous encounter, Panev admits he underestimated his opponent—a mistake he is determined not to repeat. Now training intensely in both technique and conditioning, he enters this bout with full focus, knowing he carries great responsibility not only for himself but also for his coach. Driven by the support of family and friends in Plovdiv, Panev says he is mentally ready to take on the challenge, fully aware of his opponent’s strength.

With fierce determination, the young Bulgarian plans to deliver a spectacular performance at SENSHI 26, ideally sealing the match with a stunning knockout as a gift to the home crowd. He sees this fight not only as personal redemption but also as a chance to proudly represent Bulgaria on the international stage.

The International fight promotion SENSHI has long been recognized as a launchpad for rising Bulgarian fighters, and Panev is ready to make the most of this crucial career opportunity. The SENSHI 26: Gladiators Fight Gala Night will feature 12 bouts with 24 elite fighters from 16 countries. Under the stars of Plovdiv, fans can also expect thrilling appearances from celebrated kickboxers Atanas Bozhilov and Dragomir Petrov, as well as the MMA debut of Vladislav Kanchev.
