SENSHI 20 fighters are ready for the big clashes

All combat stars successfully passed the official weigh-in of the event, which took place today

With less than 24 hours to go until the highly anticipated 20th-anniversary edition of the SENSHI 20 Fighting Gala, the emotions and excitement definitely peaked today when the official kick-off of the event was set. With spirits high, many official guests, and fighting legends from the country and the world, the SENSHI fighters faced each other for the first time, not in the ring, but in front of their first challenge – the scale. It took place at 11:30 am at the Astor Garden Hotel in the St. St. Constantine and Helena resort in Varna, Bulgaria.

All professional fighters from 15 countries managed to enter their categories and on February 24 at 18:00 in the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna will show the best they are capable of in 13 fights in the ring in the different rules of the circuit – KWU FULL CONTACT, KWU SENSHI and KWU OPEN.

Immediately after the SENSHI weigh-in, the event’s official press conference was held in the hall. It was hosted by K-1 champion and martial arts master Shihan Nicholas Pettas, and the media and fans were told about their expectations for the upcoming fight by the Bulgarian contenders Ognyan Mirchev and Jivko Stoimenov, as well as their opponents Urus Neskovic, who will face Mirchev, and Drame Cherif from Benin, who will face Stoimenov.

The press conference was also attended by Ahmed Krnjic from Bosnia and Herzegovina and his opponent Florin Ivanoaie from Romania, who we will see in the final match of SENSHI 20.

Among the special guests at the official SENSHI weigh-in were world greats in the field of martial arts, including Shihan Akira Masuda, some of the doyens of Kyokushin and K-1: Shihan Francisco Filho, Shihan Glaube Feitosa, Shihan Semmy Schilt and Ernesto Hoost. Grand K-1 Max champions Albert Kraus and Andy Souwer, respected fighting legends Sensei Yusuke Fujii, Sensei Tariel Nikoleishvili, Jan Soukup, Sensei Zahari Damyanov, Sensei Petar Martinov, also present at the official weigh-in, and congratulated the fighters before the clash. Other special guests at the event were the president of ISKA Europe – Paul Hennessy, and Grant Waterman – International Ring Announcer, former UFC MMA, and K-1 Referee.
