Konstantin Stoykov on SENSHI 28: The atmosphere feels like a gladiator arena

On September 13, the spectacular combat event SENSHI 28 Grand Prix will take place. For the first time in Bulgaria, a tournament of such scale will be held, featuring professional heavyweight fighters over 95 kg.

The fight night in Varna, Bulgaria will once again deliver unforgettable battles, and among the Bulgarian participants stepping into the ring will be Konstantin Stoykov, who already holds 2 wins from 2 appearances in the SENSHI arena.

“We’re facing another tough challenge and we’re going all out. My opponent is making his SENSHI debut, but he is far more experienced than me and has fought at a high kickboxing level in Japan,” Stoykov said in the studio of the Bulgaria Sutrin morning show.

The fighter avoids watching recordings of his opponents’ matches, relying instead on the strict training plan prepared by his team ahead of his bout in the 75 kg division under KWU FULL CONTACT rules against Brazilian fighter Petros Natan de Freitas.

“My coach shows me some of his matches during the last week, his style of fighting, but I only take a quick look and adapt based on what my coach tells me. I want to be at my maximum, not to think about the opponent, but about myself—to leave my blood and sweat in the gym so that it’s easier for me in the ring,” the athlete shared.

He expects a spectacular fight in his hometown, where the audience will demand a high level of performance from him on the SENSHI beach arena. Tickets for the combat show on September 13 are available at Eventim.bg.

“Such a big Grand Prix combat event has never been held in Bulgaria, and it will really fire up the crowd. For me, it’s pure adrenaline and an honor to step onto this powerful platform in Europe. Outdoors, on the beach, the atmosphere is close to a gladiator arena—we are the modern gladiators of a new era,” Stoykov compared.

For now, he is counting the days not to the fight itself, but to the weigh-in, since making weight before the battle is also a challenge for professional fighters.
