Maxence Vignais: I Am Preparing for SENSHI with Determination – This Is a Huge Opportunity for Me

The international fight gala SENSHI 31 Gladiators will take place in just a few days, on May 30, at the Ancient Theatre of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and French kickboxer Maxence Vignais will be among the participants. He is a two-time French kickboxing champion and a WFMC world champion, and he made his SENSHI debut at SENSHI 28 last year.

At that time, Vignais accepted the fight on the previous day, only hours after it became clear that the originally scheduled fighter would be unable to compete due to injury. Despite the extremely short preparation, the Frenchman displayed great determination and resilience in the ring, although his opponent, Marian Lapusneanu, ultimately demonstrated his class and secured the victory.

Vignais’ courage, fighting spirit, and warrior mentality earned him the special “Fighting Spirit” Award from the organizers of SENSHI 28—an honor symbolizing unwavering determination and the heart of a true warrior.

On May 30, in the gladiatorial arena of the Ancient Theatre in Bulgaria, Maxence Vignais will have a chance to face the Romanian once again as part of the competition for the SENSHI Grand Prix championship title in the 70 kg division. In the highly competitive single-elimination lightweight tournament, Vignais must first overcome his opponent in a reserve bout and then earn the opportunity to enter the main bracket. In the reserve fight, he will take on Polish fighter Wiktor Kolaja. Tickets for the event are available at Eventim.bg.

“I am preparing for SENSHI with determination. For me, this is a huge opportunity because I know that SENSHI is one of the biggest organizations in the world,” Vignais said in an interview for the morning television program Bulgaria Sutrin.

He shared that he is training intensively for SENSHI 31 Gladiators, completing eight to nine training sessions per week. Vignais said he is set to face a Polish opponent—a tough competitor whom he is eager to meet in the ring.

“The height and style of my opponent are very important, whether he fights offensively or defensively. All of this affects our strategy and fight plan,” the kickboxer told Bulgaria ON AIR.

Vignais also revealed that he has no special ritual before stepping into the ring, but prefers not to talk much.

“I listen to music. It is important to follow the same preparation routine as during training. The role of the coach is very important. I have the opportunity to show my talent,” he added.
