Romanian heavyweight star Marius Munteanu returns to the SENSHI arena for a high-voltage clash in the KWU Full Contact +95 kg division, facing Bulgarian fighter Eduard Aleksanyan on December 6. At 36, the Colosseum Tournament, Kombat London, and Fight Zone champion brings nearly two decades of experience and close to 100 fights — a rare consistency in the toughest division in combat sports.
Known for his iron mentality, fearlessness in the ring, and relentless work ethic, Munteanu is coming into SENSHI 29 fully prepared and fully motivated. For him, Bulgaria feels like a second home — and the SENSHI crowd is part of the reason. He participated in the first SENSHI Grand Prix edition on September 13. The two met with Eduard Aleksanyan at the SENSHI camp for selected fighters in Varna, Bulgaria, from November 12 to 16, 2025, where they exchanged experiences in their preparation before the match.

In this special interview for Gong.bg, the Romanian powerhouse talks about his origins, his toughest fights, his philosophy as a heavyweight, and what fans can expect when he steps into the ring once again.
– You’ve been training since 2006. What keeps you dedicated almost 20 years later?
— I feel like it’s my first day every time I enter the gym. I’m in love with this sport, and I’m fully dedicated to it.
– You say you never feel fear inside the ring. Is that really true?
— Yes, I know why I’m there, and I’m prepared for anything. My only fear is taking blood for medical tests — that’s the real danger for me!
– Tell us about a day in your training camp for SENSHI 29.
— Two sessions every day: cardio and gym in the morning, and sparring in the evening. And after that, I train my students — so my day is full.
– What personal qualities define a champion?
— Mentality comes first. And you must never cheat training. If you cheat training, you lose everything.
– Your most memorable SENSHI moment so far?
— My second fight in SENSHI 25 with Sene Lamin. I was called 48 hours before, drove 12 hours to Varna, Bulgaria, slept only six hours… and still won by KO. I’ll never forget that moment.
– How do you feel about facing Eduard Aleksanyan at SENSHI 29?
— I’m happy and honored to fight again in this big gala. And yes, I did my homework — I’ll show everything in the ring. At SENSHI 29, I’m coming to win.
– What message do you have for your opponent?
— Be ready. Let’s make a big fight for all the fans!
– And finally, what can the audience expect from you on December 6 in Varna?
— They should expect aggressiveness, a lot of kicks, and a good fight. I really want to win this one!
