SENSHI commentator earns brown belt in BJJ

Boris Tonev, the commentator of the elite fight nights SENSHI and editor of the most notorious Bulgarian combat sports media – Boec.BG and Boec.COM, has been promoted to a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Tonev is a long-time grappling and BJJ competitor. He competes under the flag of “Fight Club Levski Sofia” having won numerous medals from international championships in US, Canada, Europe, the Balkans and Bulgaria, of course. He trains professionally since 2013 and has been a member of Boec.BG and Boec.COM since 2018.

Boris got his promotion this past September during a seminar in Sofia that was hosted by non-other than BJJ legend Rodrigo “Comprido” Medeiros. He’s a two-time black belt absolute champion of the world (1999 and 2000). Tonev got his new belt personally from the Brazilian himself.

The promotion took place at the last training session, with 7 other members of “Fight Club Levski Sofia” being also promoted. One of them was Konstantin Nikolov – the head coach of the BJJ team Levski/Brasa, who became only the 11th black belt under the mighty Medeiros.
